RDP/SSH/VNC Login Screen Configuration

Fudo Enterprise enables customizing RDP, SSH and VNC login screen.

RDP login screen customization

  1. Select Settings > Resources.

  2. Select the Protocols tab.

  3. In the RDP section, click Upload new image button and select desired image.

Note

Maximum image size is 512 x 512 px.

  1. Input the Global announcement text to appear as a message on the login screen.

Login screen announcement can be four lines, up to 120 characters.

SSH login screen customization

  1. Select Settings > Resources.

  2. Select the Protocols tab.

  3. In the VNC section, click Upload new image button and select desired image.

Keyboard Layouts on the RDP Login Screen

When a user connects with a native RDP client, Fudo Enterprise translates the keystrokes it receives using the keyboard layout that the RDP client reports when the connection is established. There is no setting for this - the layout is detected automatically, and it is independent of the Predefine Keyboard Layout option described in User Portal Configuration, which applies to browser sessions only.

The detected layout determines:

  • the characters produced on the Fudo Enterprise RDP login screen,

  • the keystrokes saved in the session recording, and therefore the text found when searching sessions,

  • the input matched by regular expression policies.

Fudo Enterprise translates the following keyboard layouts:

  • English (US),

  • French (AZERTY),

  • German, including the IBM and NEO variants,

  • Norwegian,

  • Polish, both the Programmers and the 214 variant,

  • Russian, including the typewriter variant,

  • German (Swiss),

  • Turkish-Q, and

  • English (UK), including the extended variant.

Note

Layouts that are not on the list are handled as English (US). A user typing on such a layout will see different characters than expected on the login screen, and the keystrokes stored in the recording will not match what was typed.

Warning

Dead keys are not supported on the login screen. On layouts that place accents on dead keys - for example the circumflex and the diaeresis on the French and German layouts - the accented character cannot be composed, so a password containing such a character cannot be entered on the Fudo Enterprise login screen. Accented characters available directly on a single key, such as é, è, ç, à and ù on the French layout, are not affected. This limitation applies to the login screen only, not to the session with the target server.
