Nesting Collections

Collections can be organized in a hierarchical structure by nesting them within other collections. This feature allows you to create logical groupings and sub-groupings of secrets for better organization and access control.

1. Select Password Vault > Organization Vault.

2. Click Add collection.

3. In the modal window, enable the Nest under collection option.

4. Click on the Collection dropdown to select a parent collection.

5. Select the desired parent collection from the list and click Select.

6. Enter a name for the nested collection in the Name field.

7. Click Add to create the nested collection.

After creating the nested collection, you will see it displayed in the hierarchical tree structure. To view nested collections, expand the parent collection by clicking the arrow next to it.

Alternative Nesting Methods:

You can also nest collections using the quick action menu:

1. Hover over an existing collection to reveal the action buttons

2. Click + Collection to create a nested collection within the selected collection

Or use the three-dot context menu:

1. Hover over a collection and click the three dots (…) button

2. Select Add Collection from the context menu

Use Cases:

• Project-based Organization: Group secrets by main project with sub-collections for different environments (dev, staging, production)

• Team Structure: Mirror your organizational hierarchy with team-based collections and sub-team collections

• Service Categories: Group by service type with nested collections for specific applications
