External Storage¶
Fudo Enterprise supports storing session data on external storage devices attached through a Fibre Channel interface.
Caution
External Storage is supported only on physical appliances equipped with Fibre Channel cards. Virtual machines and emulated environments are not supported.
Fibre Channel cards are not included in the standard hardware configuration and are installed only if ordered with the appliance.

External storage in cluster configuration
In a cluster configuration, each node must have a dedicated WWN object.
Data stored on external storage is not replicated between cluster nodes.
Configuring External Storage¶

Fiber channel cards status is depicted by the icons.
- both fiber channel cards are operational.
- external storage volume is degraded - one of the fiber channel card is down.
- both fiber channel cards are down.
Select fiber channel cards operating mode.
Failover - data is transmitted using one fiber channel interface. If the card fails, the other one takes over ensuring continuous availability of the external storage device.
Load balancing - both fiber channel interfaces are used to transfer data between Fudo Enterprise and the external storage device.
In the External storage devices section, select the desired WWN object by clicking the button next to it.

Click the to refresh the list of available storage devices.
Proceed with enabling session data retention.
